Banshee Wines
Redeem: http://www.bansheewines.com/
Banshee Wines’ cult following is understandable, given the dedication to small production, quality vino, at an approachable cost. Self-described as being for wine geeks, we’d like to say Banshee Wines are for geeks and average wine lovers alike. These young renegade winemakers fly under the radar, with no flashy winery or tasting room, which allow for all of their resources to be poured into making the best possible wine from Napa and Sonoma’s top cult vineyards. Tasting through hundreds of barrels per month from top-pedigree producers, the Banshee Boys only select a handful from which they craft their Sonoma County Pinot Noir and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Additionally, Banshee makes wine from some of the top vineyards in wine country like Ink Grade, Coombseville, and Stagecoach. The Banshee Pinot shows bright flavors of raspberry and fresh strawberry while clinging to ripe fruits and fresh acidity, while the Napa Valley Cab comes from grapes from both valley floor and mountainside vineyards to showcase the earthy heart of the region. It tastes of rich espresso, mocha, and dusty blackberry balanced by sleek tannins and a hint of acidity. Feel free to geek out.
Take a tip or two from us
The Cab makes a happy companion to meat-laden pizza, barbecue, or a juicy burger; the Pinot goes down comfortably with heftier fish, roasted chicken, or grilled cheese sandwiches.
