Wine & Spirits’ Top of the List Tasting
We were hooked the minute we heard restaurants like L’Apicio, Maysville and La Vara—named among the New and Notable Restaurants for 2013 by Wine & Spirits—would be cooking at the magazine’s fifth annual Top of the List Tasting on Wednesday, May 1. Another thing that made us perk up: the chance to taste some 200 cabs, zins, and other great wines from more than 100 of the best U.S. and international wineries. It's an oenophile's dream night out, and just to add a little BBE to the mix, you get 30% off the price of a $75 ticket. Fret not, two buck over-oaked Chards will not be in attendance. Instead, think small producers like Flowers, Orin Swift, and Au Bon Climat, on up to biggies like Duckhorn, Moët & Chandon, and Catena.. The whole evening benefits the NY/NJ Baykeeper, you know, the guys and gals trying to keep the water clean for all those oysters and clams we love.
