Acclaimed restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian brings the coasts together

Set against the backdrop of the Beverly Canon Gardens, an immaculately landscaped green space with artfully designed water fountains, seating areas, and walkways, you’ll find one of Beverly Hills’ newest culinary hotspots: Georgie at Montage Beverly Hills. The first West Coast restaurant from East Coast restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian—who is also an acclaimed Food Network star, Iron Chef, and best-selling cookbook author—exudes New York sophistication, California whimsy, and European flair.

Throughout the dining room, patio, and bar, a palette of soothing shades of blue, gray, ivory, beige, and a hint of pink, mix with wood tables and lush greenery. A creative Modern American menu reflects the mood with locally sourced ingredients accented with eclectic global flavors.

Start your meal with internationally inspired starters: Caesar salad with Little Gem wedges tossed in a light anchovy vinaigrette and topped with delicately shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano; tuna tartare on butter leaf lettuce cups, along with avocado cubes, cucumber, and radish, drizzled with sesame-chile vinaigrette; or the beautifully plated chopped Greek salad with Roma tomatoes, thickly sliced French feta, black olives, and a sprinkling of fine herbs.
Substantial entrées may include decadent short rib ravioli topped with tender hen of the woods (aka maitake) mushrooms in a rich mustard cream sauce; al dente spaghetti and veal meatballs mixed with a slightly spicy San Marzano tomato sauce, fried basil leaves, and Parmigiano-Reggiano; and tender sliced chicken breast with a lemon piccata sauce, grilled broccolini, and roasted fingerling potatoes.

Celebrate your afternoon with handcrafted cocktails by Brian Van Flandern. The Georgie Gerber is a tongue-in-cheek homage to George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s tequila company, Casamigos, with the addition of Gerber’s peach baby food, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and egg white, while the Hollywood Park brings together Knob Creek Bourbon and Hennessy V.S.O.P. cognac with fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and mint. Then again, the signature martini cart holds a special charm, too.

Perhaps a good way to close it out is with donut bites with mascarpone cream, the Georgie cookie board, or the chocolate soufflé with bay leaf and vanilla Anglaise. You can always walk it off with a window-shopping stroll along nearby Rodeo Drive and be all LA about it.
