This online storefront has made a name for themselves by crafting patriotic-shaped and customizable cutting boards, cake stands, and other unique wood housewares—and it all started when two soon-to-say-I-do’ers came up with personal, handcrafted way to display cheese at their wedding.

Like the name implies, American Heirloom is a 100 percent made-in-the-USA company. Whether you’re from Texas or Rhode Island, you can have a board made to the unique shape of your state. And if your home can’t be pinned down to one region, American Heirloom also offers other patterned cutting boards, featuring specialty monogramming. Either way, it will be made from eco-friendly bamboo plywood, and crafted in their Brooklyn studio.

Make a baller cheese board

Basic cheese boards are so 2010. Turn up your presentation with these easy to-do ideas:
  • Serve pre-bought chutney, jams, or honey in mini Mason jars.
  • Add fresh herbs like rosemary and fresh fruit like Champagne grapes, halved figs, or sliced pears for decoration.
  • Display marinated olives and cornichons in ramekins for a briny note.
  • Scatter Marcona almonds or other raw nuts across the board for texture and crunch.
