Roasted beets, when tossed with arugula, Manchego cheese, thinly sliced apples, and pistachios become a thing of beauty known as the Bietola Salad. You can expect that sort of palatial palate treatment at Dolce Casa Café, where the word "coffeehouse" is elevated to gourmet status. Care for a gooey cheese panini made with Swiss, smoked mozzarella, and provolone, stuffed with smoked Hunter bacon with your latte? Really, you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. In Dolce Casa’s tiny kitchen, they make as many of their own pastries as possible, including plump, buttery croissants to accompany your cup of joe. This is not your mama's coffee shop.

the crowd

Everyone is welcome, and the best part is you’re welcome to stay. Dolce Casa is not a place that will chase you out; you’re free to lounge on the couches or perch in the window and work, read, or chat, whether face-to-face or online (wi-fi is always free). There is even a kids menu, but Dolce Casa is probably best for slightly older kids, since it’s apparent that some folks are there to unwind or get some quiet time away from the office.
