Must-tries at La Victoria, a traditional Latin bakery in the Mission, include vegan and French-style pastries or terrific Mexican pan dulce. Favorites like pineapple empanadas, custard conos, and macaroons have been respectfully updated by Pastry Chef Luis Villavelazquez, formerly of Absinthe. The rest of the time, the mixing machines and ovens are rented by Wholesome Bakery’s vegan bakers, and old-world bread makers, Sour Flour.

There are cozy, sunlit spots at the front of the bakery, but since this deal is only good on Valentine’s day, why not take the sweetness straight home?

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, things get savory at La Victoria with homemade empanadas and special dinner menus from Easy Creole and Old World Food Truck.
