Lemongrass Thai Cuisine

Lemongrass Thai Cuisine

You’re in luck: Each year Buddhist monks bless Toi Sawatdee’s Russian Hill restaurant. You’re good to go, then, for a transcendental experience sampling traditional Thai dishes like pad thai, infused with the sweet-sour-spicy mosaic that is the essence of Thai cooking, or the more adventurous and ever-changing dishes that show up on the specials board—maybe a poached rainbow trout with a fragrant mix of garlic, ginger, cucumber and snow peas. Servers clad in vibrant colors twist and weave through the crowded dining room, where lighting is low and Thai motifs (Buddhas and elephants—how’d you guess?), clutter every available surface. The menu also happily accommodates vegetarians, spice junkies, and the occasional celebrity. We give it our blessing.
