TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint

A block party fundraiser with all your favorite Brooklyn foods

When it comes to searching out what’s new and exciting in the world of cuisines in NYC, it’s hard to beat the one-two punch of Brooklyn‘s Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The adjoining neighborhoods are home to arguably the best sampling of superior restaurants and vendors in the city, and the collective area has clinched its rep as a culinary mecca for eaters with a sense of adventure.

Typically, it’s tough to narrow your options to one delicious destination here, but on September 16, BBE is rigging the gastronomic game of chance in your favor by partnering with TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint for an outdoor eating event of epic proportions. Featuring bites, beers, wines, and signature cocktails from over 50 of Brooklyn’s top restaurants, bars, wineries, and breweries—including James Beard Award–winners and critically acclaimed favorites—the ninth annual TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint promises to be better than ever this year.

During this afternoon outing at scenic East River State Park, BBE subscribers who use the code BBEATS18 can score 30 percent off the either general admission or VIP tickets (normally $55 and $85), and enjoy a create-your-own smorgasbord of unlimited bites from over 40 vendors, not to mention live music, youth activities provided by the YMCA, and lots more. To soak up even more of this block party vibe, go for the VIP tickets, which get in you in well before the crowds, with a special VIP gift to sweeten the deal, plus exclusive bites from select vendors.

And speaking of those vendors, highlights to look for include cocktails from So_Cal–inspired The Springs, hand-made pastas from Barano, mouthwatering fried chicken from Pies 'n' Thighs, oysters and cocktails from Maison Premiere, sushi and modern Japanese bites with an innovative twist from Amami Sushi, classic French comforts from Le Gamin, ingredient-focused authentic Mexican from Zona Rosa, and house-made savory meatballs from The Meatball Shop. Whether you opt for food from one of your favorite spots or something new from places you’ve always wanted to try, the quality, diversity, and sheer number of vendors will satisfy anyone’s appetite.

If you don’t already feel great about the idea of this, it gets even better: TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint benefits The Firehouse). Formerly known as Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center, this nonprofit is working to create a home for neighborhood social justice groups and to bring together the melting pot of residents in the area. Proceeds from TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint will go toward renovating and transforming the former Engine Co. 212 firehouse into a thriving community center for exhibitions, events, and artistic activities, as well as hosting local nonprofits committed to helping Brooklynites.

Snag your tickets today to ensure your chance to attend this delicious end-of-summer soiree, all in support of an extraordinary cause.
