The Harvest Bar — Get your antioxidant fix any way you want it

By Jen Jones Donatelli

The Harvest Bar
Meet your healthy new best friend: The Harvest Bar in Sherman Oaks. Since opening this April, the small but mighty superfood joint has been serving up customizable acai, quinoa, and pitaya bowls that are as toothsome as they are wholesome. And don’t forget their delicious smoothies—cue the bar’s ever-whirring Vitamix blenders. Each recipe reads like a health nut’s dream: no sugar added, no soy or dairy, and a laundry list of plentiful, pure antioxidants and nutrients. Make it your own with toppings like strawberry-hemp granola, cacao nibs, coconut shreds, and more. And if you’re among those who don’t “do” the Valley, take note: The Harvest Bar is set to open five more locations down the line.

Three words you’re likely to hear at Harvest Bar: “Pick your preference.” Almost all items on the menu can be made as either a bowl or a smoothie, so you can shake things up and get your antioxidant fix as you see fit.

viva Brasil!
Owners Aric Haut and Chris Gors have each cultivated a taste for acai berries—the former thanks to his travels all over Brazil (including Copacabana), and the latter along with his hardcore training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu martial arts.
