Twenty Five Lusk

By Tara Duggan

Twenty Five Lusk is one of San Francisco’s more hidden restaurants, located a few doors down the China Basin alley for which it’s named. Step inside and you wander into an unexpected scene, with a huge subterranean lounge and lively dining room above, all housed in a former meatpacking plant. Chef Matthew Dolan, who has worked in New Orleans and in Helsinki, sets his sights on New American cuisine and local ingredients. The menu’s elegance matches the restaurant’s swank design, with mid-century leather chairs and glossy white-and-chrome surfaces playing off exposed brick and wood beams.
